Calorie follows three generations of women whose present and past lives collide during an emotionally packed summer in India. 

 

Monika is a sleepless and stressed-out single mom of two teens, calorie-obsessed 13-year-old Alia and rebellious 17-year-old Simi. Monika decides to send her girls to India to visit their great aunt and uncle. She prays that connecting her daughters to their Indian roots will set them straight. But in India, the girls discover a family tragedy that Monika has kept hidden from them and whose wounds threaten to splinter the entire family in this bittersweet female-driven drama.
